General Overview and Infrastructure

  • Comprehensive Collection: The College maintains a well-equipped library featuring a rich and updated collection of relevant academic materials tailored for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Modern Systems: The facility is completely computerized, streamlining its services and resource management.
  • Operating Hours: To accommodate academic needs, the library remains open from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM (Monday to Saturday), with reduced hours from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM on Sundays and during vacations.

Access and Entry Protocols

  • Registration and Identification: It is compulsory to carry an Identity Card for entry. Upon entering, users must register their names in the biometric attendance system.
  • Property Counter: For security, students must deposit personal belongings such as bags, umbrellas, and files at the property counter; however, they are advised to keep their valuables.
  • Security Inspections: Before exiting the library, all books, files, and notebooks must be presented to the attendant at the checkpoint for a mandatory inspection.
  • Photocopying Services: Library provides reprographic services students can copy essential pages from reference books.

Borrowing Regulations

  • Loan Limits: Students are generally permitted to borrow two books at a time.
  • Duration and Renewals: The standard loan period for students is 15 days. Renewals are permitted on the due date, provided the book and borrowing card are physically presented and there are no existing reservations for the material.
  • Restricted Materials: Certain items, including project reports, seminar reports, reference books, and question paper sets, are for library use only and are not permitted to be taken outside.
  • Librarian’s Authority: The librarian reserves the right to call back any issued book at any time if necessary.

Conduct, Care and Penalties

  • Atmosphere of Study: Users must maintain strict silence and a quiet atmosphere; discussions and the use of mobile phones are strictly prohibited.
  • Care of Materials: Writing, marking, or tearing pages in library books is a serious offence. To ensure correct shelving, users are requested not to replace books on the shelves themselves but to leave them on the issue counter.
  • Fines and Losses:

    ◦  Late Returns: Fines are charged at Rs 1 per day for the first week and Rs 3 per day thereafter.

    ◦ Mobile Violations: Unauthorized phone use may result in a Rs 50 fine.

    ◦ Damages: Any book that is lost or damaged must be replaced by the borrower.
